The day that Trump was elected I was attending my first day at school.
I was too shy to ask again and be denied a second time in front of the other children, so I kept my hand down and humiliated all over myself, humiliated onto the chair, which humiliated down onto the floor. It was warm and I almost dreamed that if I stayed still and nothing ever changed there might be a kind of joy in this. I might sit here, wet and warm with myself. My own internal life now out – a part of me shared with my little world. Revealed and relieved.
